The interdisciplinary exhibition The Neverending Cure opened at UNI_VERSUM, TU Berlin, curated by the Berlin artist duo kennedy+swan in collaboration with BIFOLD researchers. It explores the blind spots of artificial intelligence in medical diagnostics through evocative artistic experiments, such as deceiving an AI trained on lung scans with watercolor artworks mimicking microscopic tissue. Beyond its aesthetic and ethical provocation, the exhibition touches on larger conversations about data trust, predictive systems, and machine intelligence—topics highly relevant across sectors, including infrastructure and construction.

Prof. Bunschoten, President of Bauhütte 4.0 (BH4.0), participated in the event to highlight the increasing convergence of AI, art, and sustainable infrastructure. For BH4.0, The Neverending Cure strongly aligns with its strategic focus on Smart Data & AI for Infrastructure Efficiency. While the medical field deals with data-driven predictions and their societal impacts, BH4.0 aims to integrate similar intelligence into the built environment. As the artworks explore the limits of AI in medicine, BH4.0 employs AI-based tools to track material behavior, simulate aging, and enhance circular building systems.
